Overview

Immediate opening for a Space Planner supporting a federal government client in the Washington, DC metro area. 

Responsibilities

  • Process and respond to all space requests sent to the facilities mailbox.
  • Meet with the Program Managers, key business unit representatives and employees to collect background data, confirm hiring plans, and specific space requirements.
  • For space layout changes, develop a detailed project plan schedule reflecting plan execution from initiation through actual occupancy.
  • Provide a wide range of interior design services such as building restack furniture layouts, finish selections, furniture selections, space layouts, etc.
  • Conduct field surveys, gathering and verifying relevant data in order to:
    • plan and design interior spaces, providng clients space design options to reconfigure their space;
    • provide systems furniture drawings with detailed component specifications; and
    • review the selected design for compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accomodations and other required space directive.
  • Enter the space change action into computer-aided design and drafting software application.
  • Update furniture inventory and resource library files.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or similar discipline with 7-10 years' professional experience performing facilities planning, interior design, and furniture project managment
  • Proficiency with the laterst computer aided design technology (AutoCAD).
  • Desired Certifications include:  The National Council for Interior Design Qualification Certification or LEED AP Interior Design & Construction Certification.
