Overview

The InfoSec Engineer SME is responsible for understanding, establishing and monitoring organizational Information Assurance programs/practices. Works with Senior System Engineers to ensure that Information Assurance (IA) capabilities are integrated into systems based on the application of advanced concepts, theories, principles and standards. Includes but not limited to requirement validation, architectural and design, and producing appropriate engineering schedule milestone documentation. Guides IA compliance initiatives adhering to system security standards.  Assists in the development of strategies, action plans, system security plans and authorization packages and other supporting documentation for system security assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Task Lead and Program Manager with developing the Network Operations Centers Network Management System and Master Site Model security plan packages in accordance with the NIST SP 800-53 Rev 4 Risk Management Framework process
  • Review Secure Voice Services projects in Xacta 360 IA Manager for accuracy and progress
  • Submit Security Impact Analysis (SIA) packages and bring supporting Body of Evidence current for Authorizing Official approval
  • Utilize the Common Control Provider (CCP) documentation to enable the 42 DRSN sites to apply hybrid and site-specific security controls to be tailored by each site for inclusion into their Xacta security package

Qualifications

Required Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or other computer science related discipline with 5 years of related experience
  • Must maintain DoD Top Secret SCI clearance and current DoDD 8570 IAT/IAM level certification.
  • Must be able to effectively articulate complex, security concepts to clients, non-technical management and other team members 
  • Must be familiar with NIST SP 800-53 Risk Management Framework Workflow tool; i.e., Xacta 360 IA Manager
  • Must be familiar with system and application STIGs
  • Must have strong analytical skills 
  • Ability to perform IAVA analysis and resolution, document POA&Ms and create security documents necessary for assessments
  • Knowledge of vulnerability scan analyses, lien tracking and remediation
  • Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS for site visits and assessments if required (less than 15%)

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and relational database concepts
  • Knowledge of Application servers
  • Knowledge of Network Management and Security Monitoring tools such as Splunk, HBSS, ACAS 
  • Knowledge of Web technologies, network communications, and authentication protocols, TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, PTP, MPLS, LDAP, RADIUS

Shift:  Day

Schedule:  Full-Time
